Latest statistics show that this website attracts an average of around 200 unique views per day, often substantially exceeding this. Many primary schools can expect to receive 50-80 unique views per day.   We pride ourselves on our up-to-the-minute news stories, daily call-outs and online calendar updates which are synchronised to our users’ mobile devices.  Our headteacher’s blog gives a real insight into weekly school life and is regularly rated one of our most popular pages. • Please give us your feedback

    Fri 18 Mar 2016

The Governors and Senior Leadership Team at Stanley are very keen to receive feedback from as many parents and carers as possible on your views about the school. This year, rather than running a survey for every year group, we are asking everyone to complete the online survey called Parent View run by Ofsted.  The results of this survey will be published on the Ofsted website, allowing us to benchmark ourselves against other local schools, and we are asking all parents and carers to give us feedback this way.

To complete the survey online you will need to register online at this URL: https://parentview.ofsted.gov.uk/give-your-views

You will need to register with your email address and a password of your choice. You can complete feedback for more than one school, and all parents and carers can give their feedback individually. Your feedback is completely anonymous, and you are able to update your views annually. We would be very grateful if as many parents and carers as possible could complete the Parent View survey before the Easter holidays. Thank you!

  • Film Club returns this Saturday

    Tue 15 Mar 2016
Film Club returns this Saturday, and by popular demand, we are showing Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events. Having been orphaned, the three Baudelaire children are sent to stay with their closest living relative - who turns out to be the mind-bogglingly creepy Uncle Olaf, the owner of a rickety mansion who plans to claim their parents' inheritance for himself. After several lucky escapes, the Baudelaires finally get to move in with other family members instead - but they haven't seen the last of Uncle Olaf! This is an imaginative and very funny film adapted from the hugely popular Lemony Snicket children's books, with a fantastic turn from Jim Carrey as the vile Uncle Olaf.

Doors open 13.30, film starts 13.45 approx. Duration 103 minutes, film finishes at around 15.25.
Please view a trailer here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XWB1HGnA3tA

PG suitable for ages 7 and above.

Tickets on the door £2.50 including popcorn. Parents welcome to stay. No unaccompanied Year 2 and below please.

Please come along- all profits go to the school!

  • Cake sale raises £162

    Mon 14 Mar 2016

A big thank you to everyone who came to last Friday’s 'Pirates and princesses' cake sale, which was a sell-out and raised £162 for the school. Many thanks to Willow, Chestnut and Maple for baking and supplying the cakes. Every sale we do makes such a difference in terms of the additional money it brings to us, and none of these events would be possible without the help and support of our volunteers on the day. A special thanks to Johanna Pedrick for managing our cake sales.

  • Tolerance value launches on Monday

    Fri 11 Mar 2016

On Monday 14 March 2016 we will be launching the next value in our values education project, Tolerance. Some examples of behaviours that demonstrate this value are:

    • Inviting others to join in, even if you would not normally play or work with them
    • Tolerating behaviours of others, e.g. behaviours from children with differing needs
    • An understanding that there are behaviours that we should not tolerate – being hurt, bullied, being made to feel afraid
    • Being willing to compromise
    • Supporting/helping others without being asked
    • Not giving up – tolerating challenge/changes
    • Showing empathy towards others in class
    • Demonstrating a positive awareness of others in our community who represent differing faiths, culture, language
    • Being interested to learn about/from other religions, views, beliefs, cultures, languages
    • Having a growing knowledge of global issues/news
    • Being able to empathise with others who are different or are being treated unfairly due to difference
    • Identifying intolerance and tolerance in news stories

Please could you discuss ‘Tolerance’ with children at home, and explore ways to reinforce it. Each week we will give special certificates to those children who demonstrate good values, and these will be displayed in the office reception area. Please feel free to come and look at them!
