FOSP supports the school by organising fundraising events like the May Fair and Christmas Bazaar, fireworks night, comedy nights and quiz nights. All of these fantastic events and more are run by parent and carer volunteers like you. After the money has been raised we decide together how it can be spent to improve the learning environment for every child at school.
FOSP has six main branches:
Chair: Clare Davies is our current FOSP chair, and she’s responsible for running the FOSP meetings and follow-up actions, including setting up working groups, event planning and liaising with the head teacher and class reps.
Communications: This team looks after communications with parents and carers through newsletters, Parentmail, social media and noticeboards. They also promote FOSP events inside and outside school.
Finance: Jo Jamieson and the finance team is responsible for taking care of the money including handling cash, banking, floats for events, paying expenses and donations to the school. They also look after book-keeping and report our financial position back to the school and to the Charity Commission.
Class reps: Class reps are an important link between the parents and the school, and are responsible for organising volunteers for class-related events like cake sales and swimming. Also liaising with the teacher and keeping parents up-to-date on class news, and arranging class coffee mornings and nights out.
Event volunteers: These parents and carers are the backbone of FOSP and none of our fundraising events could happen without them. FOSP volunteers help out at cake and book sales, organise and run the May and Christmas fairs, photocopy leaflets, collect prizes on mufti days, and do a million other things which help make Stanley such a friendly school community and amazing learning environment for our kids.
