The science curriculum at Stanley Primary School aims to develop the children’s understanding of the world around them. We encourage all children to develop their natural curiosity and become excited and inspired about nature; our world and scientific processes. Children develop their knowledge, understanding and skills in science through a topic based creative curriculum. We encourage children to work scientifically by asking their own questions; and teach the skills needed so that our pupils can analyse their observations, test their predictions, gather and record data; and draw conclusions based on their evidence and first hand experiences. When children are working scientifically they are able to answer their own questions, challenge any misconceptions and broaden their life experiences, and scientific minds.
