    Sat 18 Jul 2020

Mr Hawley said thank you to Clare Davies and Jo Jamieson who are stepping down after many years of brilliant work as Chair and Treasurer of FOSP. Clare and Jo were also given pictures of the school and other gifts in appreciation of their support over their time at Stanley.

Mr Hawley said: “Their contribution to our school and the tireless work that they have put in has been immense … thank you – your work is greatly appreciated”

That work has included organising countless events and raising substantial amounts of much needed funds for the school. Clare has been writing the FOSP section of the school’s newsletter and wrote about her, Jo’s and all parent leavers: “We have been: class reps, cake makers, bunting arrangers, Christmas shop Assistants, DJs, open mic performers, BBQ Chefs, cocktail makers (and drinkers), Quiz creators, Librarians, gardeners, summer socialisers, firework fun night organisers ..... and so it goes on!  Haven’t we done so many wonderful things - it’s been so much fun!”

  • Bronze Bubble's Comic Strips

    Mon 13 Jul 2020

A report by by Alfie P and Fred A from Bronze Bubble

As a bronze bubble we have been making a comic strip. We started off jotting down ideas on a mind map about our superheroes and villains. Once we had decided who our villains and heroes were we created a storyboard to get an idea of the story line. We then chose the type of comic strip layout we wanted and watched some step-by-step videos on how to draw our characters. When we were confident about drawing them when we got started on the comic strips. We were reminded to use onomatopoeia, speech bubbles, thought bubbles and captions. Finally, we added lots of colour to make it visually inviting and then created front covers. Making the comic strips was fun because we had the freedom to create our own characters and it was lots of drawing!!

Check out the brilliant comic strips ... well done Bronze Bubble!

  • More Art and growing beans too

    Mon 13 Jul 2020

The art that has been produced both at school and at home over the lockdown period has continued to impress us ... as has another project - bean growing!

You can see below some excellent work including Year 2 poducing abstract art in the style of Paul Klee, French art in the style of Matisse with Ms Tuohy and Lily's (3MC) super art gallery.

As well as art Year 3 have also been creating beans ... each child was given a bean seed to plant and record a bean diary during lockdown. Pictured below is Zane's bean plant, which he nurtured and he has just enjoyed eating his beans.
