Learning with Confidence Together
Tomorrow we are holding a Mufti Day and cake sale in aid of Wear Yellow Day for the Cystic Fibrosis Trust. The children can wear yellow and pay £1 in support of the charity. Children in Year 4 are invited to bake cakes for a special cake sale after-school, for the whole school to purchase.
The Cystic Fibrosis Trust is the only UK-wide charity dedicated to fighting for a life unlimited by cystic fibrosis (CF) for everyone affected by the condition. Since its inception in 1964, the charity has dedicated itself to promoting excellence in research and clinical care, as well as providing practical support and advice to people with CF and their families.
We would like to congratulate Connie O’L (5V) and Eddie O'L (5M), our Pupil Parliamentarians who were voted in last Thursday in the Year 5 Pupil Parliament elections.
The Pupil Parliament was established by Richmond borough in 1994 with the aim of helping primary school pupils to become directly involved in citizenship and promoting British values. Pupils debate and contribute their views to the borough council on many issues, including the school curriculum, sports and recreation as well as wider issues such as anti-racism and immigration. The parliament consists of two representatives (current Year 5 pupils) from each participating school.
Connie and Eddie made compelling speeches which discussed: 'Is education so focused on testing and a narrow curriculum that opportunities for creativity, physical and social education are neglected and are children more likely to feel stressed and unhappy?'
Well done to our successful pair and good luck for next year.

This Friday we are holding an optional Mufti Day for the Living Classroom. Go wild and wear something bright and flowery or green and garden-themed! Every £1 donation will go towards plants and equipment for children to use in our blooming-marvellous Living Classroom, and to keep the flower beds around school looking bright and cheerful. Please note that this is not a compulsory event, and children are welcome to come in their usual school uniform if they prefer.
