Remembrance Day

The School held a Remembrance Service on Monday 11 November when children and teachers gathered round the War Memorial on the school grounds.

Headteacher, Ian Dickinson led the service and read part of Laurence Binyon’s poem For the Fallen:

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:

Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.

At the going down of the sun and in the morning

We will remember them.

Two minutes silence was then observed when Councillor Jonathan Cardy, who is a governor of the school, laid a wreath on behalf of the Mayor of Richmond which said:

For those who gave their tomorrows for our todays

The Last Post was then played by four of the school’s musicians.

Prior to Remembrance Day Year 5 children tidying and planting graves.
