Learning with Confidence Together
On Friday 14 June Stanley Primary School held its 35th Annual Charities Day.
All the children were involved in fund-raising for their chosen charities by inventing games and activities.
The charities chosen were:
Year 6 - Save the Children
Year 5 - Great Ormond Street
Year 4 - Water Aid
Year 3 - Shooting Star Hospice for Children
Nursery - Year 2 Bug Life (Insect conservation)
The theme this year was Heroes and Heroines and the children were asked to dress up as a person that they admired and who is an inspiration to them … some dressed as their Mum, Dad or their Teacher.
The infant children brought small change to cover a bee they had drawn. The impressive sum raised was over £1,850. The total raised for a variety of charities over 35 years is over £100,000.
Thank you to everyone who supported the day which was great fun and a special thank you to Mrs Griffiths who has been involved organising Charities Day for all 35 years!
