Stanley's teaching staff developed their knowledge of outdoor learning this week in our new Living Classroom. The session was led by Year 2 teacher Jacqui Smith, who has a background in environmental science. Our teaching staff have weekly training sessions as part of their continuing professional development.
The Living Classroom is a beautifully crafted wildlife garden which has been created with funds raised by FOSP. The garden includes a lovely pond with accessible pathways, and future plans include an orchard. The Living Classroom is maintained by a small group of parents– no expertise required! There are weekly spruce-up sessions on term-time Thursdays (14.00-15.00) for anyone who is able to help. The grand opening of the Living Classroom will take place at the May Fair at 12.30 on Sunday 17 May 2015.
