German Teacher Conny at Stanley
Our first week back after half-term, we had a visiting teacher, Conny Scholze from Germany, from near Stuttgart. The hosting scheme allows teachers to visit schools to compare subject teaching and share their expertise, as well as learn from our teachers.
Conny visited classes across the school teaching P.E. - running, and about school life in Germany. She also observed maths lessons to find out how we teach Maths. Year 4 and 5 had running lessons, Year 1 learnt animals and counting in German and Year 4 and 5 learnt about school in Germany and asked questions to find out similarities and differences between Germany and England. We also learnt that children start school at 7.30, they don’t wear uniforms and transition to secondary school after Year 4!
