Learning with Confidence Together
One of the events the children most look forward to took place on Friday 26 January … the Year 1 and 2 Sleepover … or as it is sometimes called the “Stay- Awake- over”
The children were not disappointed and had a fantastic time and even slept very well with wake up calls needed on Saturday morning.
The evening featured a movie, dancing and hoola hoops as well as a pizza supper before lights out.
Comments from parents confirmed the children thoroughly enjoyed the Sleepover and they were also full of praise for Stanley staff who made the event so special … the pictures below suggest they enjoyed the evening as much as the children!
“Thanks to all the amazing staff who make this happen”
“Well I think you’re all pretty wonderful looking after that lot! Brilliant to all you staff! Lucky kids!”
“He had a really great time and wants to go again next year!”
“Such commitment to the children, who obviously had a fantastic time. Opportunities like this really reinforces the reasons why we send our children to Stanley, such a lovely school”
“Thank you for making it so lovely for the children!”
“Thank you to all the fabulous staff at Stanley for making the Sleepover such a special night for the children. They absolutely loved it!”
Writer and illustrator Evelyn Wood, whose grandchildren came to Stanley, visited the school to talk to Year 2 about his books particularly his nature series, Exploring with Too Woo.
The children learnt about bees including one very interesting fact ... they have smelly feet which are used to recognise members of their hive as well as helping other bees find a good source of pollen.
Thank you Mr Wood!
Spring term's Superheroes topic was launched in spectacular fashion as Year 2 transformed into their favourite Superheroes ... some amazing outfits were on display.
The day started with a parade in the hall and then the children moved on to several Superhero activities, including - drama, interviews and dance.
