Learning with Confidence Together
We really enjoyed Monday’s visit by author Tony Mitton, who has written and illustrated a number of very well known and loved children’s books, including 'Spookyrumpus', 'All Afloat on Noah's Boat', 'Bumpus Jumpus Dinosaurumpus!' and a series of books about amazing machines. He has also recently won a CLPE award for his poem 'Wayland'. Tony held a series of workshops with the Infant Department and did a book signing after school. Please see photos below.
Well done to our boys’ football team, who had a fantastic 6-1 win against St John the Baptist Junior School in the football league this week. This was our team's best performance so far; the St John's goalkeeper was outstanding, but once we got the ball past him, it gave the boys the confidence to go on and score more. The goals were scored by Levi (3), Eddie (2) and Rylee (1). The boys worked excellently together as a team and were a credit to Stanley.
Children's author Tony Mitton will be coming to visit Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 on Monday 26 January 2015. Tony has written and illustrated a number of very well known and loved children’s books including 'Spookyrumpus', 'All Afloat on Noah's Boat', 'Bumpus Jumpus Dinosaurumpus!' and a series of books about amazing machines. He has also recently won a CLPE award for his poem 'Wayland'. There will be a book sale and signing after school in the Large Studio.
Year 6 (2013/2014) parent and pupil survey
At Stanley Primary School, the governors carry out regular surveys of parents and children to help the school keep improving. We are very interested to hear your views and experiences of being a parent at the school.
We are particularly interested how we can best support parents and children in the move from primary to secondary school. It is important we get as many questionnaires as possible to make sure we have covered everybody's experiences.
Please use the link below to complete the survey online:
https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/8FN8HCP
The survey is in two sections:
Part 1 – questions 1 – 6 should be completed by the parent/carer.
Part 2 – questions 7 – 10 should be completed by the pupil.
We would be grateful if the survey could be completed and submitted by Friday 9 January 2015.
