Stanley takes part in 'Firebird' extravaganza
The school orchestra and 30 dancers from Year 5 joined orchestras and dancers from 12 other primary schools to put on a fantastic music and dance event entitled 'Firebird' at St Mary’s University College. The massed orchestra, supported by some secondary-aged musicians and Music Trust teachers, performed extracts from Stravinsky's ‘Firebird’ and Tchaikovsky's ‘Nutcracker Suite’. The Year 5 dancers performed their own dance interpreting the story of 'Firebird', and as part of a troupe of 360 dancers performed a wonderful finale piece. Thank you to Mrs Griffiths for preparing the orchestra and Mrs Keogh for her work rehearsing the Year 5 dancers. See photos below!
